Snowshoeing

In the winter months when there is enough snow on the ground, the Club organizes snowshoe outings in Gatineau Park.

Our snowshoe outings are usually full day outings and are typically between 10km and 15km in length. Lunch may be at one of the cabins in the park or may be eaten outside, depending on the route. Some trails have difficult sections (depending on snow depth) with steep climbs or descents.

Trail conditions can vary considerably over the winter depending on the recent weather. Sometimes microspikes are sufficient on hard packed trails. After a fresh snowfall a larger group can make easier work breaking out the trail.

Participants will need a Gatineau Park snowshoe pass for these outings (day pass or season pass).
