Experimental Farm to Hog's Back Amble

We will ramble from the Ornamental Gardens at the Experimental Farm through the Fletcher Wildlife Gardens, cross the Rideau Canal at Hartwell Locks (Is the canal still full?) and after a walk by the canal take a pretty path beside the Rideau River into the Carleton campus, where we will cross the new bridge into Vincent Massey Park and proceed to Hog's Back Park for lunch and gazing at the amazing falls. After a stroll by Mooney's Bay we'll continue by the canal, recross at Hartwell Lock and hike through the Arboretum to return to our starting point. About 10 km, the exact distance being determined by some choices on the return. Paths are mostly asphalt, but in most places there is grass to the side. Some minor hills.

Meet at 9:30 at the parking lot behind Building 57 (what3words: pint.decorate.holds), the first building west of the roundabout at the corner of Prince of Wales and the NCC Driveway; turn onto Birch Drive from the Driveway. Parking is free and not time limited on the weekend.
